Industrial Engineering
I did a lot of research before buying my AOG 30in. Grill. I even spent hours looking at Lowes and Home Depot seeing if there truly was a difference in the quality the products they put out. Let's just say, there is NO comparison when it came to the AOG grill. The quality of material used is unsurpassed. The AOG grill is one solid piece of equipment. Zero shaking parts. The BTUs it puts out is very high, efficient and hot. Whenever I cook anything, it cooks it evenly. I never have to shuffle around meat to certain spots of the grill. I especially noticed the quality AOG puts into its side burner. VERY HOT. It's constructed of high quality brass. I purchased the side light as well and this has been worth every penny. All in all, my AOG is a BBQ dream comes true. If you're serious about BBQ or even if you would like to become serious about BBQ. I recommend this grill. (This review can be found on About.com).
Excellent engineering, materials and construction
I bought this grill based on the About.com review and the reputation of AOG (and Fire Magic), and also because it was the only reasonably-price 100% 304 stainless steel grill series that I found after quite a bit of research. The overall construction and finish are excellent. The warming rack and grates are heavy gauge, as are the flame diffuser plates and the burners themselves. The knobs are heavy (cast) metal - not plastic - with rubber grips. The sheet metal is slightly less thick than high-end grills, but it's not what I would call thin or flimsy. The lid is double layer, which makes it very rigid. The doors are box-construction - which makes them very rigid. The door and lid handles are nice, heavy tubular stainless. The brass side burner is really heavy and nice. The side shelves are very rigid.
So far, steaks, burgers, vegetables and potatoes all have cooked really nicely (quickly and uniformly). I have notice a slight temperature difference between the front and back of the grates, even with the lid closed - with the rear being a bit hotter. (This review can be found on About.com).
