It will keep a family tradition going.
This is an item that was hard to find locally. We use it for popovers and it cooks them evenly and to a nice golden brown. The only thing I don't like is that it's not that easy to clean and being cast iron, it rusts.

Baking Perfection
I used this to make drop yeast rolls, and it performed perfectly. They rose beautifully and browned evenly, and popped out after just a light once-over with a pastry brush using butter. To show how I trust it, I'm baking 300 rolls for an affair and using two of these pans only.
I have to also add that this company has the best customer service on the internet, bar none, and I've dealt with hundreds of them.

best muffins ever
As all the aluminum kitchen cookwares in our house are being removed, the material of choice for most of the new pieces are cast iron (or enameled) cast iron. Hands down, it is the best material - it cooks evenly, enhances flavor, and is forgiving (if you leave the muffins in the oven a little too long, no big deal). Aluminum is nasty, coatings chip off, but with (just a wee bit of) care, the cast iron will last forever, and makes all your food happy and healthy.
