The Broan Evolution 1 Series Range Hood is a quiet, 300 CFM under-cabinet range hood with fully enclosed design for easy cleaning. The dishwasher-safe aluminum mesh filters with antimicrobial protection are standard, but non-ducted recirculating filters are available for installations not conducive to ducting, sold separately. Independent two-position rocker switches control both the four halogen lamps light setting, and the blower motor. Offers four-way convertibility with 3-1/4 x 10 inch horizontal or vertical discharge, 7 inch round vertical discharge, and non-ducted recirculating. Includes a 3-1/4 x 10 inch damper/adapter.

| Looks good, low profile and works great!We purchased and installed the product about 6 months back as part of a kitchen remodel. We had a downdraft cooktop before so were concerned that an under-cabinet hood may be too prominent. Fortunately, this unit is low profile so almost blends in to our kitchen without being intrusive. Installation was a bit challenging in that one has to hold the unit up to the cabinet (so tough to do with one person) as it's being screwed in. The unit has been performing very well; we really like the multi levels of brightness options. The fan/ventilation is also good though it can get noisy on the highest setting. In most cases the low or medium setting was sufficient. Overall we are vey happy with the product and would recommend it. | Was This Helpful? |
| Great features at a good price point.I researched the heck out of range hoods before selecting this one from Broan. It was a mid-range model for a modest kitchen upgrade we were doing but it had top of the line features. Three speed quiet exhaust, four bulb illumination with theatrical fade and a sleek profile. I was tired of having to air my clothes out because the smell from the previous night's dinner (especially when we cooked fish or anything fried) would permeate my closet. Despite our kitchen's small size, I'm glad we made the decision to exchange our over-the-range microwave with this range hood. It really is quiet, and although we still need to close the kitchen doors when frying, it is, for the most part, very effective. We have a tile backsplash, and chose to install Broan's stainless steel backsplash to cover the area between the oven and the bottom of the range hood. Gorgeous? No. Acceptable? | Professional in Appearance & PerformanceWe replaced a 42-year old original hood with the Broan QP230SS model during a recent kitchen do-over. We were originally looking for improved appearance and figured "all hoods work the same." We were wrong. The Broan not only looks professional but operates like a professional hood as well. It has excellent lighting and restaurant-style removable filters for ease of cleaning. We have the ducted model and it is quite effective at pulling cooking odors away from the cooktop and venting them outside the house. | Best Range hood we have ownedI have discovered Broans customer service is excellent! Unfortunetly, the first time we installed it, there was some electrical problem...I called, they quickly sent a new motherboard, still some issue, a second call, they quckly sent a new switch etc, gentleman was very good to talk to, helpful. So, now we have an excellent range hood. Lights dim, halogen lights are perfect for the kitchen. Make sure you do NOT install LED lights in place of what it comes with, they won't work with it. My only correction would be that it is labeled to take the halogen lights only. The fan is SO quiet and draws cooking odors right out.
