Unreliable and fickle

I have 6 probes and none of them are accurate. I've had two probes in the same piece of meat and had a variation of 20 degrees, yes I pay attention to get the probes centered. The blue tooth disconnects for no apparent reason, even when it is close to the unit. The unit resets on its own and does not pick up the programming from the Ap even though the Ap receives temp. info from the unit. Shutting down the unit is also frustrating, it will often shut off then turn back on, by itself, within a few seconds. I've ordered the Weber 2 and hope that it works better than this unit has. I'm still using it until the Weber comes in however it is very frustrating to use, though I have figured out how to at least get the meat the correct temp. for the most part, though mostly that is from knowing the grill and using a best guess from the wildly inaccurate probe temps..

Absolute waste of money

The Grill Eye product is terrible folks do not waste your money and here's why. I bought the Grill Eye with four probes from BBQ Guys in late October 2022. It looks great but as I soon found out it's terrible. I had a competition cook so I broke it out to put it to the test first use. Probe 1 down for the count. These are so weak in the cabling that it couldn't function with the smoker door pinching it. If you do not drill holes for these to go thru they won't last. No matter how gentle you close your doors they won't make it. Lost probe 2 next on the vertical smoker couldn't make it with the door closed again these are very weak cables. We ended up back to the Academy No name brand that was probably $25 and it still worked like a champ. Two weeks later I had another cook on a different pit and lost another probe to pinching. Morale of the story folks it's a waste of money.

Can you set a range with an alarm? Looking to upgrade my current system. When doing overnight cooks I lay one probe on the grate, to have an alarm if a probe (smoker) goes below 200° or above 300°.

Hey there! You absolutely can! Click on the probe you want to create the range for, then you can create a custom setting which will allow you to set the range!

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
