Good stuff Greater People

The grill is great. I put it together with LocTite and an impact driver. Made sure to square up each panel and part as I went. Do that and you will have a really impressive grill. Sucker feels like it's built out of 1 piece of metal. I researched grills for a month. I finally realized this grill has the same cooking surface as their high end grills. The panels, lack of side burner (I have a dedicated set already) and cast single wall lid are the only difference. I didn't care about the panels, I have hotter dedicated burners and the thing got to 750 degrees. So I finally chose the Cast Black 500 and the griddle for versatility. My goal was to keep my wife from fussing about dishes and, to be honest, I like gadgets.😁 So the grill shows up, I get it assembled, wipe the inside parts with lard, fire it up and let it start doing it's thing. I then look online to see if there are anymore gadgets that would allow me to more fully utilize the grill. I scroll to my grill to read up on it and it now says "Free $250 gift" when I buy a 3 or 4 burner Saber!! So I call BBQGuys and explain the situation and ask if I can get in on that deal. I explain that I missed the promo by a day or two. I appealed under the clause of "C'mon man!" She said wait for a minute. Came back and said they would be happy to send me the gift! I expected a tough luck answer. I have called them multiple times with questions. Every time they got the answer and were happy to do it. This is a great Louisiana, USA company. They work hard for their customers. As Americans we should support good companies employing good people. They are not robots- they care. You won't get dedication like this from the big retailers and my local premium dealer couldn't get the grill any better than I could. And BBQGuys delivered it to me for free. Local charges were over $100 for delivery. You may make a bad decision of what grill you want. But you won't regret getting it from BBQGuys. -Believe That

Awesome Results

I purchased this grill over 6 years ago and I could not be happier with its performance. I have never had a flare up, and the cooking is consistent throughout. I can leave the hood down, set my timer, and come back knowing my meal is going to turn out great. The materials are superior in every way.

We bought this grill 7 years ago and have loved it

We love this grill. We have had it for 7 years and use it all the time. Our only complaint (as mentioned in the professional review) is that despite being on a covered patio the firebox has started to rust and pieces are flaking off. One of the brackets that holds the cooking grates has broken off front rust. We are outside of warranty and thus will have to replace it. With that said, after 7 years of wonderful grilling we are looking at buying another one

Uneven heat

This grill was purchased for getting in quick meals. The unit lights right away and gets up to temp rapidly. We are pleased that it is easy to use and there are no flare ups. We are health conscious and don't want a lot of char on our food, but like the flavour of grilling, so were drawn to $aber. Disappointing that heat displacement is uneven and most concentrated directly over the burners making cooking frustrating. This is on clean grills and emitters. Dialing in temperatures with the knobs is another issue, we now use an IR gun to try to establish even temps between the burners... Cleaning must be done each and every use otherwise the grill gets very hard to clean. Suggest to burn things off right away, but be warned it is not a breeze and the pieces directly under the grill are not as well constructed as I would have imagined them to be. You'll have to separate the grills frequently and pull out any debris from the ends. Don't even think of using your favourite BBQ sauce on this grill. The rest of the components are quality, and we like the grease trap, but not enough to buy one again.

The Skinny:

  • Great value infrared grill
  • Evenly heated cooking surface
  • Virtually no flare-ups
  • Heat zone separators for multiple cooking zones
  • Easy to keep clean
  • Excellent customer service after the sale

Things We Love:

Saber offers great value infrared gas grills, along with excellent customer service after the sale. However, it's Saber's patented infrared cooking system that is the heart of the grill and what I love the most about them. The 304-grade stainless steel cooking grids feature air-channels on the bottom side, which trap hot air and create an excellent surface for nice sear marks, and offer quick heat recovery when flipping your food over. The cooking grids sit on top of 304-grade stainless steel emitter plates, which cover the entire surface of the grill, allowing heat to radiate evenly across the grilling surface. This also means that any food drippings that fall between the cooking grids, will be caught and vaporized back into your food in the form of delicious smoke. The emitter plates feature tiny air holes that line up directly under the cooking grids, which focuses the heat exactly where you want it, at the cooking surface. Because this design also restricts air flow, you'll find that grease drippings, which normally cause flare-ups, are transformed into rich smoke and makes this cooking system virtually free from any flare-ups.

Saber's infrared cooking system also reaches searing high temperatures, which is great for steakhouse quality sear marks on your food. While cooking on this grill, I was able to reach a maximum temperature of 850 degrees.

Under the emitter plates, you'll find 304-grade stainless steel tube burners, each producing 8,000 BTUs of cooking power. The burners are ignited by a battery powered spark ignition. Sitting between each burner are heat zone separators, which allow you to cook with different temperature zones at once. This is great for searing steaks in one zone, while slow roasting veggies in another zone.

Another innovative feature of Saber that I love is the warming rack. While many gas grills include a warming rack, Saber's warming rack allows you to adjust it to sit inches above the cooking surface as a roasting rack, giving you extra cooking versatility. However, if you're cooking ribs or another dish that stretches across the heat zones, be sure to remove the heat zone separators so your food cooks evenly.

Saber grills also include a grate scraper tool and full width slide-out drip pan, making clean up of any grease that may fall into the firebox a breeze. It is worth noting that after multiple cooks on this grill, I could not find a single drop of grease that fell below the cooking system and into the drip pan. This is definitely a bonus if you're looking for a low maintenance grill.

We carry 3 collections of Saber grills; the Elite Series, the Premium series and the Deluxe series. The Premium series is available in 3 and 4 burners, as well as built-in and freestanding configurations. The Deluxe series freestanding models include a side burner on the left shelf. This dual-tube side burner gives you cooking flexibility, and both burner tubes combine to produce 18,000 BTUs, which is one of the most powerful in the gas grill industry.

The Deluxe series offers the same cooking system as the Stainless Steel series, but features a stainless steel or porcelain coated hood with cast aluminum sides and powder coated cart, which gives the grill a different look and makes it more affordable. The Deluxe 500 and Deluxe Black 670 models include a 10,000 BTU standard side burner, while the other models do not.

You may also be interested in some of the popular accessories that Saber offers for these grills, which includes a griddle, easy-read meat thermometer, and dual-use grill brush.

Things To Consider:

Saber's firebox, heat zone separators, and drip pan are not stainless steel, but are made of porcelain coated steel, which can chip and rust over time and are only warranted for 5 years.

Also, like most infrared grills, don't expect to cook at low or warming temperatures. The lowest temperature we were able to achieve was 450 degrees.

Saber grills offer individual cooking zone thermometers that sit at grate level above each burner. However, like many gas grill thermometers, we found them to be inaccurate.

You'll Like This Grill If:

You want a great cooking infrared grill for the money, from a brand with excellent customer service after the sale.

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We’ll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can’t be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we’ve only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
