Shun Classic Pro knives combine traditional Japanese style with the superb performance of VG10 stainless steel and the elegance of ebony PakkaWood handles. Graffiti-etched blades create a visually striking design which is similar to etching found on custom Japanese knives. Pakkawood is constructed of carefully selected foreign and domestic hardwood veneers which undergo a process that creates multiple fused layers of treated hardwoods, making a weather, bacteria and moisture resistant handle that is dimensionally stable. This knife features full-tang construction for added strength and balance. The 6 1/2-inch VG10 stainless steel blade has an angle of 16 to maintain a precision edge, and the balance point between the handle and blade enhances precision. The blade backs are gently hollow ground, which allows air between blade and food for a precision slice and easy food release. The D-shaped handle is designed to fit perfectly into the curve of your grip for a comfortable hold, and the stainless steel accents add a unique finishing touch. Each Shun Classic blade features the Shun logo emblazoned onto the side, and should be hand washed to preserve the quality. This Shun Classic Deba knife is ideal for beheading and filleting fish, cutting through small bones and skin, boning poultry, and cutting meat.
