This Wisconsinite loves the Pro

We got the gas kit and find it to be very hot. There is convenience in that you can use gas in a ventilated space like an open garage. The charcoal and wood fire produces enough smoke that while it can be used under a roof overhang it needs more air than the gas. Learning to control heat is the art of this oven. We have a Thermoworks infrared gun which we set on average and scan the stone. We also bought a stainless pizza turner - essential for the short fast cook. Once the crust sets up the pie is in constant rotation.

Charcoal > Gas

I bought the propane burner attachment as well. It works well but takes about 3 min to cook a 12" pizza. I found that the charcoal takes about 60s, but sometimes is too hot. Great little oven. Sounds like the Wisconsin review is just a troll.

What I've been looking for

I've always wanted a wood fired pizza oven, but what was out there was big and expensive for a quality oven, plus I did not have any room to place one of the huge ovens in my outdoor kitchen. So I found out about this and did some research and decide to give a try. I purchased this along with the pellet burner attachment. After starting it up for the first time with the pellet attachment (not cooking anything and just seeing how it performs) I found that it produced to much smoke for a pizza. So I took it off and tried using the normal wood fire charcoal (Big Green Egg Charcoal) approach. This ,to me, was a better flame / smoke result. Then I tried adding some hickory to the fire which was store bought chunks that I spit into smaller peaces. I got a huge heat boost from this, but I found adding to much will cause to much smoke again. I may need to play around with the damper settings so I can fine tune this issue. So far I've been using store bought fresh (not frozen) pizza and found that its "OMG" good. Bottom is crisp and not soggy as if you cooked it in an indoor oven. Can't wait to try a cast iron steak and veggies with it. My recommendation for anyone buying this is to get a Infra Red Heat monitor gun. This way you can learn about the stone temperature and how to cook different items.

Waste of money!

Would never recommend the Uuni. The pizza crust is always doughy in the middle and burned on the edges. We have to pre- bake the crust in our oven in the house and then go outside to use the Uuni. Totally defeats having an outside pizza oven. They said you just have to get the hang of it and we have tried many times. Not worth the money! We know others who have bought them as well and don't ever use them for the same reason.

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We’ll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can’t be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we’ve only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
