Take on your next grilling or smoking session with ease with the Camp Chef SmokePro SGX Pellet Grill. With the digital temperature display, simple temperature settings, and an exclusive ash clean out system, this grill will have you spending less time needing to monitor your grill and more time enjoying the outdoors and a delicious meal. This SmokePro SGX is constructed of durable powder coated steel with a bronze finished lid and a stainless steel fire box, and it features a 663 square inch primary cooking area and a 211 square inch upper warming rack. This gives you a total of 874 square inches of cooking space, all heated by 25,000 BTUs of cooking power. With the simple temperature selection system, the grill can be set to temperatures as low as 160 degrees for smoking and up to 500 degrees for the perfect sear. The SmokePro SGX also features Slide and Grill technology, which allows you to switch between direct and indirect flame cooking with just the pull of a knob. Once you have chosen your desired temperature, the digital display can be toggled between showing the grill temperature and internal food temperature, which is monitored by the included stainless steel meat probe. Smart Smoke technology keeps your Camp Chef pellet grill with 15 degrees of your selected temperature. The automatic auger dispenses pellets as needed from the high capacity hopper, which holds up to 18 pounds of pellets at once. A continuous fan insures that your grill stays evenly heated and smoky, so every bit of food is perfectly cooked. When you are done cooking, clean up is easy, thanks to the exclusive Camp Chef ash clean out system. Simply pull open the trap door with the side knob and empty the ash cup underneath the grill. This grill also features a pair of large, heavy-duty wheels and a pair of swivel casters for easy rolling and maneuverability, a pellet clean out door so you can keep your unused pellets protected and dry between uses, and a powder coated steel side shelf.

I am very impressed with how it cooks and performs. So are the folks who eaten the food I have prepared on it. Reversed seared Ribeye steak was a great hit as well as a braided pork tenderloin. Have cooked home prepared pizzas several times and it's much better than delivery. Beware of recommended cook times with all recipes and rely on an instant read thermometer instead for finished cooking temps. I have added the sear box and front shelf along with a grill blanket. All are great accessories. One modification I did was to add a Felt Gasket Replacement Kit for a Kamado grill around the inside edge of the grill lid. It helps to keep the smoke and heat from escaping around the edges of the lid. It also helps with a faster heat up time. When using the sear box to reverse searing a steak I found that a setting of low-medium on the sear box was better than the recommended high setting. You can get the same grill marks and searing you want without the flare-ups. When using the grill blanket remember to remove the blanket when cooking with temps. over 350 degrees. Any hotter and it will ruin the magnets that hold the blanket in place. This pellet grill works so well I'm now looking to sell my propane BBQ and electric smoker to save room. I debated size, and eventually went with the 36" SmokePro grill and added the optional sear burner. I'm definitely glad I went with the 36" size. I was able to cook 12 burger at once with room to spare. The sear burner is a nice feature but doesn't work quite as well with natural gas. The grill is fairly easy to assemble, however the instructions are TINY and can be difficult to read. I love the bronze finish, although once I removed the protective paper, I noticed a large surface scratch on the lid. It must have been missed by quality control. I've cooked on this grill twice now. Both times the food has been delicious. Pork tenderloin comes out very juicy. There not a lot of smoke flavor even on the high smoke setting. I have yet to use the direct grill feature. So far it has used much less pellets than I would have expected. The grill temperature runs about 5 degrees lower than the dial and the meat probe runs about 10 degrees higher. Clean up is easy with the Ash Cleanout System. Overall, I think it has been a good purchase and look forward to more meals cooked on it. | Was This Helpful? |

It just doesn't make it smoky enough for me I tried a couple of different pellets with ribs, roasts, brisket, and butts. Meats had a smoke ring but not the heavy smoky infused taste that I was looking for. I personally like the burnt ends of anything smoked just not getting that with this smoker. The other smoker options that I considered were more expensive ( I don't know that it would be any different) I looked on the Camp Chef web site for tips for getting a heavier smoke infused flavor, not that much out there, lot of recipe tips call for liquid smoke, kinda defeats the purpose of using a smoker. They apparently think their design is fine the way it is. One of the things that sold me on the Camp Chef was the sliding cup cleanout. After using the smoker and examining the bottom of the smoker before I used it again I found that there was no ash in the reservoir to drop into the cleanout cup, instead I had a layer of dust ashes in the bottom of the smoker. When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day.

- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can’t be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
