Best high quality smoke box I've ever owned!I ve had many smoker boxes that disintegrated with very little use ! No reimbursement for my review of grill or add on products! I read an article that showed that Soaking wood chips versus putting them in the smoker dry only steams the meat Versus actually smoking it.. I have found this to be true.. When you open the lid open t⁷he dry chips produce a lot of thick smoke whereas the soaked wood chips do not provide as much. The taste is also a bit weaker with the with the water soaked chips. The meat itself absorbs more smoke in the dry method but overall taste taste is milder with the wood soaked in water. So far I have only tried this with ribs but I plan to try different meats and see if I get similar results. Another person asked for cleaning the bnox after use. I use Bar keeper's friend, Which is a stainless steel cleaner and works very well for my stainless steel pots and pans .They come out looking brand new & they do not etch the metal in any way. I do not know if Napoleon directly manufactures this product or just sells it but I have no complaints whatsoever so far. I use the Napoleon prestige pro 500. This model sits over the flame tamer . You then replace the wave grills, and can start cooking. They keep mentioning a sear plate. The only sear surface is the side sear burner and there is no way to put this box under the grill grates of the sear burner. So I assume its a misprint. To recap, I love this box, highly recommend, soaking chips or not is really your preference as eventually the chips do smoke...its a delay in ignition, but once they do, THEN PUT THE MEAT IN. you will reduce or avoid the steam side effect. Cleaning is best done with Bar Keepera Friend cleanser. DO NOT USE THE ABRASIVE side of a sponge. I get the sponge wet ,dip it in a bowl of cleanser and water mix.
