 | Smoke fire ELX6I have always been a stick burner on a semi pro offset smoker. Convenience became a real factor so I researched and found that the Weber smoke fire seemed to fit best. That was about a month ago and I have used it roughly a dozen times. I have cooked burgers, chicken, and two briskets. I was shocked at the smoky flavor, and aside from the first use, I have been extremely pleased with the consistent temperatures. | The SmokeFire makes me a master chef!This is my first pellet grill and I have been overwhelmed at the consistency and ease of this Weber Smokefire. Assembly instructions were a little vague so get some help if you're not mechanically inclined. Once assembled, the app install and connecting the grill through Bluetooth was very straightforward. But pay attention when the wifi network question prompt comes up. It's easy to click past because you think you're already connected and all is good. And yes your phone is connected to Bluetooth but your grill hasn't been told how to connect online yet. It needs a wifi connection so you can connect to it when you are away from home. The meat probes work really well. You get 4 probe connections and each can be custom labeled in the app and monitored online. The pellet hopper will run about 13 hours of smoke at 225 degrees. The app will let you know when the hopper is getting low. The Weber pellets do a great job of smoking at just the right density. And the taste from the pellets is very balanced and present throughout the meat. I haven't tried any other brands of pellets but at this point doubt I will. The taste from the Weber pellets will keep me using these. Cleaning is very easy. The pellets burn very efficiently so a full bag of pellets only leaves about a cup of ash. Meat drippings are easy to push out through the bottom of the smoker and into the drip pan. I am still experimenting with how best to use a water bowl, but did finally find some examples on line that helped. Basically just sit a foil pan on top of the flavor bars and add your choice of liquid. I'm gonna experiment more with a mix of water, apple juice, and maybe some brown sugar. Over all, my experience with this grill has met all of my expectations and then much more. My SmokeFire ELX6 came with a shelf on both sides. I also ordered the fold down shelf for the left side. This would be helpful if I needed to save space when parking the grill, but honestly, the shelf that came with the grill is more stable and will hold more weight. And the grill cover will fit over the shelf whether folded or not. Looking forward to more weekends with this smoker. Suddenly my friend group has started growing when people spread the word about the taste of the meat! | Was This Helpful? |
